It is with great pleasure that we report that the last digitiser for the radio detector was installed on November 28, 2024, meaning that all positions now have a complete RD. The photo shows the field crew after installing the last unit. We would like to thank everyone who has made this possible, especially our colleagues in Malargüe who have worked very hard. We are very pleased to have completed the project in such a short time for a project of this size and complexity – bearing in mind that a lot of time was lost during the corona pandemic.
We are now looking forward to the interesting physics results that we will obtain with our upgraded observatory over the next decade. Let's look forward to finding the first EeV photon and neutrino, and to tracing the most energetic particles to their sources. Of course, the completion of the installation is only the beginning of the physics adventure to come.
